There are 5952 species of endangered foods around the world threatened by demand for high yield crops or simplified methods of food production. For my final project I created a fictional brand that could bring forgotten foods on the brink of extinction to the luxury market as rare specialist food products. The forgotten food emporium aims to showcase the unique flavours, colours and heritage that have evolved with each food item through intricate hand painted illustrations and luxury packaging.
Packaging Design
Some of the sides that feature on the outer packaging. The concept and aim of the Forgotten Food Emporium is explained alongside hand drawn illustrations.
Promotional Animation
Hand-painted illustrations of the history and heritage of the endangered food create an intricate animated scene.
Lantern Inner Packaging
The inner layer of packaging which serves the purpose of holding the food product, transforms into a lantern to allow the customer to continue enjoying the packaging after they have consumed the product. The lantern which features hand-painted illustrations layered to create an intricate scene, can be illuminated with a tea light and used as a table centrepiece.
